Friends of James Van Der Beek have started a GoFundMe page to support the actor’s wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, and their six children after the actor died on February 11, 2023, after a long fight with colorectal cancer. Just after announcing the news of James’ passing, Kimberly shared the link to the GoFundMe page on Instagram, stating, “My friends created this link to support me and my children during this time, with gratitude and a broken heart.”

On the GoFundMe page, James Van Der Beek is described as “a beloved husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of everyone around him.” The prolonged fight with cancer has not only taken an emotional toll on the family, but it has also taken a significant financial toll, as they have done everything possible to support James and provide for his care during this time.

The family hopes to maintain stability during an uncertain period

Following his passing, Kimberly and the kids are said to be facing an uncertain future. However, as the statement on the fundraising page reads, “The costs of James’s medical care and the extended fight against cancer have left the family out of funds. They are working hard to stay in their home and to ensure the children can continue their education and maintain some stability during this incredibly difficult time. The support of friends, family, and the wider community will make a world of difference as they navigate the road ahead. ” They are trying to stay in their home and ensure that the kids are able to continue their education while trying to navigate this incredibly difficult situation, according to reports.

Any money that is donated will be used to help them with their living expenses, as well as their educational expenses. “Your generosity will help cover essential living expenses, pay bills, and support the children’s education. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Kimberly and her family find hope and security as they rebuild their lives. Thank you for considering a gift to support them.”

The fundraising campaign has set a goal of raising $350,000. So far, they have managed to raise over $158,000.

As previously reported, earlier in the year, Van Der Beek sold memorabilia from Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues to help raise money for his treatment as well as to help other families who are facing similar medical battles. In September, the cast of Dawson’s Creek reunited to hold a fundraiser for Van Der Beek and his family.
