Hannibal should be on every thriller junkie’s watch list. It is one of the most iconic psychological horror TV series. The series also shot Bryan Fuller’s career to fame, but that’s not all; it seems like the director is set to collaborate with Clive Barker

Hannibal creator’s dream collaboration with Clive Barker

At the Saturn Awards, Fuller spoke to ScreenRant and discussed his upcoming project with Clive Barker. He said, “There’s so much that I want to do. I’m writing a script right now that hopefully will be my next directorial effort. I’m collaborating with Clive Barker on a new television series that’s very exciting, and a dream come true from my childhood. It’s just a matter of time to bring them to life.”

From Candyman to Nightbreed, Barker has worked on a variety of horror stories and movies. He’s a prominent filmmaker and an author, which is a silver lining indeed!

His most notable work is Hellraiser, but that’s not all. The British filmmaker and writer has been praised by Stephen King himself. It was in 1985 that King called the writer the “future of horror.”

King is regarded for his sci-fi and supernatural works, and Stranger Things is one such example, but here’s why this collaboration is important. This is a passion project for Fuller, who is famously known for his psychological thriller series Hannibal. It starred Mads Mikkelson as Hannibal Lecter.

It was a refreshing portrayal of the character based on Thomas Harris’s novel. Sir Anthony Hopkins portrayedHannibal in the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs, and it remains one of his legendary roles.

While it was notorious, Mikkelsen’s role had its own charm. The collaboration between Barker and Fuller would bring forth the nitty-gritty of horror and the supernatural. The source material and the casting for the upcoming project have yet to be confirmed.

Needless to say, there are speculations that the series might be based on Hellraiser, but no official statements have been made as of now.
