Ghostbusters and Charles in Charge actress Jennifer Runyon has passed away due to cancer. The esteemed actress was known for her roles in movies and TV shows across various genres. She passed away at the age of 65, leaving behind a memorable legacy, so let’s take a look at it.

‘Ghostbusters’ fame Jennifer Runyon passes away

Jennifer Runyon is celebrated for her roles in movies like Up the Creek and 19 Again! and so on. Runyon was widely regarded as a scream queen for appearing in horror and slasher films. She was a horror movie icon in the 1980s, but her roster was versatile. 

She mostly did supporting roles until her big break in Charles in Charge. She played Gwendolyn Pierce, Charles’ girlfriend, and was a part of the main cast. Not only that, she appeared in the 1984 flick Ghostbusters, where she played a supporting role alongside Bill Murray. 

In 2014, Runyon had almost retired from her acting career and had taken to her newfound love of teaching. The former actress also once stated that she co-hosted her own cooking podcast. 

After the news of her passing broke, tributes poured in. Erin Murphy remembered her friend in her Facebook post, where she said, “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you, Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

Runyon’s daughter, Bayley Corman, took to Instagram to give an ode to her mother. She wrote, “All of the best parts of me came from you. I would give anything for one more day together.” Corman also added, “the kindest, most compassionate person I’ve ever known. My best friend. I wasn’t ready for this.” 

Jennifer Runyon’s death is a huge loss to the film community, and her contributions will always be remembered. The actress is survived by her husband, Todd Corman, and children, Bailey and Wyatt.
