David Harbour is having the time of his life as he gets ready to start Avengers: Doomsday, and as fans, we can’t help but love it. During the press days on February 26, 2026, Harbour was gushing about the “super-soldier brotherhood” forming between Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, and John Walker. The three men survived the chaos of Thunderbolts*, and it looks like they’re sticking together… and causing just as much chaos in the process.

David Harbour teases Doctor Doom’s “special” performance

Harbour called it a “bromance love triangle” with him, Sebastian Stan, and Wyatt Russell. Is Red Guardian trying to connect with the Winter Soldier while eye-rolling at Walker for being the new Cap? Sounds like the stuff Marvel movies are made of. Harbour claimed that the tension between them has actually turned into a real-life friendship, which might actually explain the chemistry that we can already see in the film.

He stated, “Oh man, that movie is huge. I mean, I thought that ‘Stranger Things’ 5 was big, but this is kind of the biggest thing I’ve ever done. I’m really excited for you to see what Downey’s doing. I think he’s really special. Alexei and Yelena have, of course, a lot of beautiful stuff. And also, I’m building sort of a brotherhood with my boys, the Winter Soldier, and also with Wyatt Russell’s sort of new Cap. And I like that bromance between the three of us. That sort of love triangle has been really fun. You got us sold!”

If you think that this upcoming Marvel movie is just the same old, same old, then Harbour is quick to correct that notion. The actor, who is wrapping up his run on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, claimed that this was “the biggest thing” he’d ever done, even bigger than the final season of that show. He confirmed that he was going to London to start filming again. It looks like this is going to be one big show.

But the one statement that really got the fans going was when he talked about the new Doctor Doom played by Robert Downey Jr. Harbour claimed that what RDJ was doing was “really special,” hinting that we might get a Doctor Doom that we haven’t seen in the MCU before. That in itself is just crazy. RDJ is back in the MCU, but this time as its new biggest threat. And don’t worry, folks. There are going to be more emotional scenes with Florence Pugh as the new Yelena Belova.
