Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce publicly announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, 2025. The post included photos from the proposal with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Now, industry sources have revealed the city where Swift and Kelce are set to tie the knot.

As per Page Six, the two lovebirds are planning to get married on July 3 in New York. As per previous reports, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and the global pop icon were considering Rhode Island, where she has a sprawling estate adjacent to a hotel, a fitting venue for the ceremony. It must be noted that these are industry rumors, and there has been no official announcement from either Kelce or Swift.
The date gains significance because July Fourth is reportedly Swift’s most cherished holiday, and it will mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The “Teardrops on My Guitar” singer is very fond of the bustling city of New York. In fact, she even penned a song dedicated to the Big Apple called “Welcome to New York” in 2014.
At one point, she was also the city’s Global Welcome Ambassador for 2014–2015, and the aforementioned song was used to promote New York City tourism.
The singer-songwriter also has a significant real estate presence in the city. In 2014, she bought a pair of side-by-side penthouses in Tribeca and merged them into one expansive duplex, subsequently adding the adjacent townhouse and a 3,500-square-foot loft within the building to her holdings.
In 2016, she rented a place on Cornelia Street while her Franklin Street property was undergoing renovations. She later referenced it in a song of the same name on her 2019 album Lover.
It seems that her fiancé, Kelce, also likes the “vibes” of the city, where everybody is on the grind, which makes the city come alive. “I think it’s one of my favorite things to do in New York, just be one with the city and just kinda walk the streets and feel the electricity, feeling everybody doing their own s–t and meeting a few new people along the way,” the NFL star stated on the New Heights podcast.
On The Graham Norton Show in 2025, Swift stated that she is going to have an enormous guest list at her wedding. “Anyone I’ve ever talked to [is getting an invitation],” she said.
