As Science SARU chose to end yet another season on a cliffhanger, hopefully Dan Da Dan fans are eating well after that. After Season 2 landed with the confidence of Kinta (Who suddenly unlocks supernatural powers) building a super giant Buddha fighting robot out of Momo’s house, the hype for Season 3 has kicked in at full speed.
Audiences know what’s on the table when it comes to Dan Da Dan. The show is a mix of slick animation and wild paranormal between aliens and ghosts, which is, of course, a mashup of unapologetically goofy humor, turning it into one of Crunchyroll’s (And Netflix’s, too) biggest anime hits of 2025, so the excitement is pretty much guaranteed.
Netflix and Science SARU remain Silent on a Date, leaving Fans to rely on pattern-spotting instead of Promises

As we know what happened with Okarun after unzipping the deflated Kaiju, it was obvious that Season 3 is on its way, and now it’s officially in production as of November 2025. Although nobody at Netflix or Science SARU is ready to give us a date. But if we look at the pattern, Season 2 arrived less than a year after Season 1, so it’s safe to assume that we should see our favorite old Turbo Granny (who was initially the antagonist of the show but is now a part of the family) in her cute neko form. But without confirmed details, all release speculation is still fan-world math.
For now, what we have is a solid breadcrumb that we have been handed in the announcement post. There are no trailers, no countdowns, no cryptic key art, nothing for us at all. But here is one thing we can guess with a decent amount of confidence, that Season 3 will likely stick to the 12-episode structure that Seasons 1 and 2 followed.
And if you are new to all this, the author suggests you go watch the show before you come and read it. For those who don’t know, here’s a small summary of what has happened so far. As we know, the story centers on high schoolers named Ayase Momo and Takakura Ken “Okarun.” Okarun believes aliens are real, Momo believes ghosts are real, and then the universe proves both of them wrong and right in equally painful but hilarious ways. Okarun ends up possessed by Turbo Granny; Momo finds out she has telekinesis (thanks to aliens).
From there, it’s a parade of bonkers threats, vengeful spirits, interdimensional weirdos, and mantis-shrimp aliens with anger issues who are after Okarun’s banana. And of course, a plesiosaur teen named Aira, who is possessed by a ghost, is attending school with these two. The three teenagers are apparently on the quest to find Okarun’s Kintama (which were taken by Turbo Granny); like, that’s a totally normal plot for a story.
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, which led us to Season 2. And honestly, it raised the stakes by throwing the “Evil Eye” into the mix, possessing Jiji (Momo’s childhood crush) and making the group’s life dramatically more complicated. It also gave Okarun a power-up arc involving angry ghosts of famous composers such as Ludwig Van Beethoven, because why not? By the finale, our supernatural squad with Kinta was piloting a giant robot against a kaiju-level extraterrestrial disaster. Again, anything is possible, and it honestly screams peak Dan Da Dan energy.
Abby Trott’s tease at Anime Pasadena 2025 confirmed what fans suspected

Season 3 will almost certainly take on the manga’s Space Globalists arc, which brings in another alien faction with its own shady agenda. Expect more drama, more absurdity, and more moments where nothing makes absolute sense, but somehow it does.
And out of all the speculations that we have, the returning cast hasn’t been confirmed, but realistically, everyone is coming back. Shion Wakayama, Natsuki Hanae, Nana Mizuki, Kaito Ishikawa, Ayane Sakura, and Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny.
At Anime Pasadena 2025, Abby Trott (Momo’s English voice) teased that Season 3 introduces memorable new characters, which lines up perfectly with the manga. Dan Da Dan loves adding weirdos to its family, and we are loving every new addition.
But before Dan Da Dan was made official, reports suggested that Science SARU was already juggling a loaded schedule, which included a new Ghost in the Shell project. So Season 3’s timing is still unclear. But for now, with the show’s massive success on Netflix and Crunchyroll, the studio knows we are eagerly waiting.
And whenever Season 3 arrives, it’s going to be epic.
