Dakota Fanning’s filmography is nothing short of impressive. The actress has worked on a diverse range of roles and across various genres. It only makes sense that she gets her big break in the MCU, and here’s what she had to say about that.
Dakota Fanning’s proposal for MCU
Dakota Fanning was asked by The Direct if the rumors of her joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe were true. She said, “There hasn’t been, no. But I would be totally open to it. Sometimes I’ll see [rumors] on Instagram. I’m like, I need to call my agent to see what’s going on. But no, there hasn’t been any truth to those thus far.”
The actress expressed her wish to work with the MCU in the future, and that had fans speculating about her future role. Some suggested Fanning would be the best fit for Emma Frost and Polaris, while others stated that she would nail the role of Black Widow.
Either way, none of it is confirmed as of yet. Fanning was also asked whether she had any role in mind regarding her possible collaboration with the MCU. She didn’t have anything in particular. “I’ve never really thought about it. But I’d be down! I’ll try anything. I’d do anything if someone would have me.”
Previously, she voiced Wonder Woman in the 2004 animated series Justice League Animated. She also voiced popular cartoon character Kim Possible in ‘Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time’. In the 2009 film Push, she played the role of Cassie Holmes, who has precognition abilities that are highly advanced. This is precisely why most fans look forward to her playing a role in the MCU.
In the Twilight Saga movies, Fanning played the role of Jane Volturi. This stands as one of her remarkable roles where she outdid herself completely. Her character was sadistic and used Pain Illusion to potentially harm others. This was by far one of her most impressive roles as an antagonist.
We still do not know whether MCU will potentially collaborate with her. It would be interesting to see how this combination would pan out, though. Fanning is currently filming ‘The Sun Never Sets’, which is scheduled to be released this year.
