There is no doubt that Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran are both iconic entertainers. They are also longtime friends, and their hilarious attempt at recreating an Avengers scene proves it.

Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran reenacted an iconic Avengers scene, but made it hilarious. It is the famous Mjölnir scene from Age of Ultron, except Hemsworth switched the hammer to a guitar. The clip is utterly comical owing to Sheeran’s expressions as Hemsworth lifts the acoustic guitar.
Both celebs met each other as part of Sheeran’s Loop tour. They also did a fistfight, which is currently doing the rounds on the internet. Marvel Australia and New Zealand’s Instagram account also celebrated Ed Sheeran’s tour with a collab featuring the singer alongside Thor in comic art. It shows him and Thor locking fists and cheering in a classic Marvel art style. Talk about tribute!
Earlier this year, Chris Hemsworth also played drums for the singer’s concert in Bucharest. What’s also surprising is that he performed in front of 70,000 fans.
It was also back in the TV series Limitless, where Ed Sheeran challenged the Avengers actor to play the drums. It is no easy feat, come to think of it, but Hemsworth eventually learned the instrument.
It was Ben Gordon, Parkway Drive’s drummer, who taught the actor to play drums. Both Gordon and Sheeran starred in episodes of Hemsworth’s series Limitless, where he took on various challenges, including learning new skill sets and further pushing the boundaries of the mind, body, and spirit.
Hemsworth took on the challenge and surprised most fans in Bucharest, and it became one of the highlights of the concert. Both stars remain close friends as of now.
It is also reported that Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran did a friendly exchange of instruments; the Avengers star gave Sheeran a prop version of Mjolnir, while the singer gave Hemsworth an acoustic guitar.
Hemsworth is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Marvel movie Doomsday. The film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
