New reports suggest Marvel’s younger heroes may have a crucial part to play in the final chapter of the Multiverse Saga. Characters such as Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop are expected to lead the group, often called the Champions or Young Avengers. Their role is compared to Ant-Man‘s in Avengers: Endgame. That comparison suggests they may help provide the key solution to the larger conflict rather than lead the final battle themselves.

A Key Role Like Ant-Man

In Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man returned from the Quantum Realm after the Snap. He later helped the Avengers discover a way to travel through time and recover the Infinity Stones. That plan allowed the team to undo the damage Thanos caused.

Reports indicate the Champions could serve a similar purpose in the upcoming Avengers films. Their actions may help reveal the truth about Doctor Doom and the reality he may create. The story may take inspiration from the Secret Wars comics. In that storyline, Doom reshapes reality, creating a world known as Battleworld. Many heroes lose memories of their original lives.

A small group of survivors remembers the old universe. They arrive in the new world and begin working to restore the truth. Some rumors suggest the Champions could fill that role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If that happens, the younger heroes may be the ones who remind the veteran Avengers what the real world looked like. Their presence could push characters like Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, and Hawkeye to return to the fight.

Possible team members include Wiccan, Speed, Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Cassie Lang, and Ironheart. Industry insider Alex Perez recently discussed the comparison while speaking about the saga’s direction.

The Young Avengers‘ (which features Kate Bishop as co-captain) role at the end of the Multiverse is equivalent to the role of Ant-Man in Endgame.”

The team may not appear heavily in Avengers: Doomsday. However, their role could grow in Avengers: Secret Wars, where the Multiverse Saga is expected to conclude.

Both films are being directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, while Avengers: Secret Wars is planned for December 17, 2027.
