Brian Cox to star in Dexter: Resurrection S2
As reported by Variety, Brian Cox will play the role of Don Framt, also known as Jack the Ripper. The actor’s IMDb profile also confirmed his role in the upcoming series, and here’s what we know so far.
Jack the Ripper in Dexter is actually based on a real-life figure who was known by the same name. The serial killer was known for his menacing way of unaliving people, mostly women. He roamed London, and for years, even decades, his real identity was never known.
He evaded police and arrest for a long time, and though there were suspects and people made speculations, they couldn’t come close to who the person actually was behind the name. This was back in the 1880s, and Dexter takes a rather modern spin on the narrative.
This isn’t surprising considering Cox’s previous role in the iconic film Manhunter. The actor played the role of Hannibal Lecter, and quite honestly, he nailed it. He’s back to playing the role of an infamous serial killer, where he would bring a more sinister approach and menacing aura to his character, and so far, Don Framt has been a mystery. The character has piqued Dexter and Leon Prater’s interest, and most likely, the former will have a face-off in the coming season.
Dexter: Resurrection is set 15 years after the events of Dexter: New Blood, where the character was shot. After surviving the shot, Dexter picks up where he left off and goes on a hunting spree for serial killers. He also tries to reconcile with his son, Harrison Morgan, played by Jack Alcott. Amidst the reconciliation and hunt, Dexter must also evade the police who are currently searching for him and trying to trace his activity.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is scheduled for release in October 2026.
