Bob Odenkirk’s cameo fright regarding Pluribus

Bob Odenkirk recently attended the Saturn Awards and was interviewed by ScreenRant. When asked if Odenkirk would like to feature in Pluribus, he said, “Of course I would, but you can’t do that. I think I would destroy the fabric of his world.”

The Better Call Saul actor enthusiastically spoke about Vince Gilligan’s series. He praised it for its post-apocalyptic themes and ethics. He said:

It’s fulfilling. It helps if you know what Vince Gilligan does and you watch the show the way he’s trained us to watch, which is to pay attention to every detail. Everything will matter. Every little thing that you see will matter. And of course he’s exploring.. I think there are some very relevant themes. Taking the post-apocalyptic world into a new direction. An ethical direction.”

Pluribus is set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world in New Mexico. It follows the journey of humans who are plagued by an extraterrestrial virus.

Amid all this chaos, Carol Sturka, an author, remains immune to the virus. She seeks to find the cure to undo the events that are leading up to this creation of a ‘hive mind.’ Up until now, the black comedy sci-fi series has garnered positive reviews. It is hailed for its storytelling and themes that blend in with the current-day scenario.

Odenkirk has a history of working with Gilligan on both Breaking Bad and its prequel, Better Call Saul. In both series, he played Saul Goodman, which boosted his fame. His performances are acclaimed, cementing him as a prolific actor.

He previously received the Award for Best Actor in a Cable or Television Series, hosted by the Saturn Awards, in 2022 for his role as Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul.
