The fans are hyped about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will hit theatres in the United States on July 31, 2026. The film will mark the fourth installment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, Andrew Garfield, who headlined The Amazing Spider-Man series, has shared his take on the newly released trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man film led by Holland.
Andrew Garfield thinks the new Spider-Man trailer is “very cool”
Garfield previously appeared in Holland’s Spider-Man series. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Garfield’s version of Spider-Man teamed up with Holland and Tobey Maguire’s version after the multiverse opened due to Doctor Strange’s spell, to fight villains pulled in from each other’s universes. The film served as a moment of emotional catharsis for fans, as they saw their friendly neighborhood heroes of yesteryear reunite with Holland.
As the story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to pick up from where No Way Home left off, Andrew Garfield was asked by Yahoo UK whether he had seen the trailer of the new Spider-Man film. He replied, “I haven’t seen it yet with sound. I’ve seen it without sound, because I was in a makeup chair, and I didn’t want to disturb everyone.”
Although The Amazing Spider-Man star didn’t want to disrupt the makeup crew on set, Garfield said the trailer looked cool. “It looks cool, it was very, very cool,” he added.
The movie will witness the return of Holland as Peter Parker, as he starts to build his life from scratch after Doctor Strange’s spell makes everyone forget that he exists. As he tries to rebuild his connection with his past friends and romantic interest, MJ, Spider-Man himself will face street-level vigilantes and villains like Punisher and Scorpion.
The trailer confirms that Hulk / Bruce Banner will be part of the film, with Mark Ruffalo reprising his role, potentially as a scientific advisor to Peter. Apart from the returning cast, Jon Bernthal is officially set to join the franchise as the Punisher. Marvin Jones III is reported to play Tombstone. Meanwhile, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas have been confirmed as part of the cast, although their roles remain undisclosed.
With all the hype surrounding the film, expectations are high from director Destin Daniel Cretton following the success of No Way Home. Do you think the new Spider-Man film will be able to surpass the box office numbers of its predecessor? Let us know in the comments section below.
