Reacher actor Alan Ritchson was involved in a neighborhood brawl that sparked widespread attention on social media. The initial footage that surfaced from the incident painted Ritchson in a poor light, showing his neighbor on the ground while the actor was hitting him multiple times. However, bodycam footage later provided a clearer context, and he will not face charges. Now, Ritchson has responded with a cryptic Instagram post amid the massive public backlash.

Ritchson shares Napoleon’s quote after avoiding criminal charges

New footage that has surfaced shows the actor riding his motorcycle in the Brentwood area of Tennessee earlier this month. As he was riding around, the recording shows his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, suddenly standing in the way of the actor’s vehicle. This prompted a verbal altercation between the two, with Ritchson accusing Taylor of threatening his safety.

On the other hand, the neighbor threatened to call the police and branded him a “lunatic.” The situation further escalated, with the neighbor refusing to step out of Ritchson’s way and the bike being brought down multiple times, as per the footage. Furthermore, the actor can be heard questioning the neighbor’s sanity, after which a physical altercation ensued.

According to reports, Taylor alleged that Ritchson punched and kicked him. However, the police, after reviewing the video evidence and witness statements, stated that Ritchson acted in self-defense.

“After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued. Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense,” Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told The Hollywood Reporter. He further stated that Taylor initiated the physical contact by pushing Ritchson off his bike. Moreover, Ritchson will not be pursuing any charges against the neighbor.

After the Brentwood Police confirmed that the actor would not be facing any charges, he took to Instagram to post, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” A subtle reference to the incident, suggesting that he chose to let the situation unfold as the truth came to light. With the much-publicized incident now behind him, Ritchson will likely turn his focus back to his professional commitments.
