10 One Piece Characters We Love and Hate in Egghead Arc
10. Love - Vegapunk and His Satellites (We Don’t Speak about York)
Finally, “the man who has the world's best brain” appeared as an odd and lovable sidekick. Audiences found his personalities appealing in his satellites—not to mention the chivalrous Shaka (Logic) and the vivacious Lilith (Evil), who would give their lives for his dream to provide free energy to the world.
9. Jewelry Bonney
No longer the enigma that she once was, Bonney emerged as the emotional nucleus of the arc. The addition of the twist that she is a 12-year-old girl trying to find her father, as well as the "Distorted Future" power of turning briefly into a "Nika-like" form, cemented her as one of the top fan characters.
8. Sentomaru
He was once a stubborn enemy. However, his act of giving huge respect by moving from his Marines’ responsibility to his devotion to Vegapunk has made him one of the sympathetic characters because he was compelled to fight his mentor, Kizaru, protecting his “old man” Vegapunk.
7. Buckingham Stussy
The revelation that CP0 agent Stussy was, in fact, the first successful clone (inspired by an ex-Rocks Pirate) and an undercover ally of Vegapunk was quite startling. This internal conflict and subsequent turnabout of betraying the World Government in helping the Straw Hat crew escape made her a remarkable heroine.
6. Emet the Iron Giant
This ancient relic of the Void Century became a tragic hero. His activation for the defense of Luffy, whom he knew was Joy Boy, and his final sacrifice to release the stored Haki of Joy Boy, canceling the Gorosei, were among the most legendary moments of this arc.
5. Bartholomew Kuma
The undisputed “MVP” of the arc. Kuma’s tragic life as a Buccaneer, his lifelong suffering, and finally his act of traversing the world in his mindless cyborg form solely in order to punch Saint Saturn to save his daughter have etched his name as one of the most beloved characters in One Piece.
4. HATE - Admiral Kizaru
Audiences relished their hatred towards Kizaru’s “tormented justice.” Although he showed remorse, he still decided to put his honor first, giving his longtime friend, Dr. Vegapunk, a killing blow. Also, his ruthlessness in disposing of those whom he supposedly cared about left a bad taste in many fans’ mouths.
3. Saint Jaygarcia Saturn and the Gorosei
The Five Elders show their true, horrific selves, proving they are not merely politicians, but also "demon-like figures". Saturn, in specific, deserved absolute hatred for his acts of cruelty and his role in Kuma's miserable life, and his experimentation with Bonney's mother.
2. York
The "Greed" satellite of Vegapunk became the lead traitor in the arc. The selfish will to become one of the Celestial Dragons made her disclose information to the World Government, causing the demise of her own sisters and the arrival of the Buster Call on Egghead.
1. Imu
At the top of the global order, Imu continues to remain the big villain in the series and has spread terror by destroying Lulusia Kingdom, along with orders for annihilation from Vegapunk, because they succeeded in hiding global history in order to remain at the top.
