10 MCU Characters Who Were Cut Without Any Reason

10. Sharon Carter's Activities

10. Sharon Carter's Activities

After a significant role in Captain America: Civil War, Sharon Carter disappeared until The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series. Her initial absence from important events, such as Infinity War and Endgame, was not explained within the films themselves. However, it was later revealed she was a victim of the Snap and subsequently revealed to be the Power Broker.

9. Doc Samson (Ty Burrell)

9. Doc Samson (Ty Burrell)

Another character introduced in The Incredible Hulk who was never mentioned again. In the comics, Leonard Samson is a fellow gamma-powered hero with green hair. In the film, he was a psychiatrist who dated Betty Ross, but the character never developed into his comic counterpart and vanished from the narrative.

8. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings)

8. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings)

A fan-favorite comedic relief character from the first two Thor films, Darcy vanished from the series without explanation for years. She finally returned in the Disney+ series WandaVision and later Thor: Love and Thunder, but her absence between films was a glaring omission.

7. Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor)

7. Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor)

A mentor and ally to Doctor Strange in his first appearance, the character's post-credits scene in Doctor Strange established him as a new antagonist, stealing magic from other sorcerers because he believed "there are too many sorcerers." However, he did not appear in Infinity War or Endgame, and the next time he appeared was a variant in Multiverse of Madness, leaving the primary Mordo's story unresolved.

6. Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)

6. Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)

Wanda Maximoff's brother was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron and died in the same film. While his death provided closure, many fans noted that his potential had been wasted, as he was an essential character in the comics who was cut from the ongoing narrative very early on. The character's inclusion was likely limited by Fox still holding the X-Men rights at the time.

5. Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell)

5. Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell)

Tony Stark's rival defense contractor, Hammer provided a charismatic, if incompetent, secondary villain in Iron Man 2. Though not killed, he was arrested at the end of the film and hasn't been seen or mentioned in any major movie since, despite being a character who could have easily factored into later events involving technology or global security.

4. Dr. Helen Cho (Claudia Kim)

4. Dr. Helen Cho (Claudia Kim)

A brilliant geneticist who played a key role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, helping to create Vision's body. After her role in that film, she vanished from the narrative entirely, with no mention of her activities or whereabouts in any subsequent global or scientific MCU events.

3. Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander)

3. Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander)

A prominent Asgardian warrior and ally of Thor, Sif appeared in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, and even in an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. However, she was completely absent from Thor: Ragnarok, where Thor's other companions (the Warriors Three) were unceremoniously killed off. Her absence was eventually explained by the actress's scheduling conflicts with the show Blindspot, but within the films, there was no narrative reason given at the time. She later made a brief reappearance in Loki Season 1 and Thor: Love and Thunder.

2. Samuel Sterns / The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson)

2. Samuel Sterns / The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson)

Also from The Incredible Hulk, Sterns was shown to be exposed to gamma radiation at the end of the film, which caused his head to begin mutating, teasing his transformation into the major comic book villain the Leader. This plot thread was entirely dropped when the Hulk franchise was rebooted, and he only returned in Captain America: Civil War, 16 years later.

1. Betty Ross (Liv Tyler)

1. Betty Ross (Liv Tyler)

Introduced as Bruce Banner's love interest and a key character in The Incredible Hulk (2008), she was completely absent from subsequent films featuring Banner (Mark Ruffalo) for years. Her romance arc was essentially transferred to Natasha Romanoff, and she only recently reappeared in Captain America: New World Order, with no prior explanation for her long disappearance.
