10 Game of Thrones Characters I Hate the Most
10. Shae
Shae’s "downfall" in the eyes of fans comes from her ultimate betrayal of Tyrion. While the show tried to paint her as a woman scorned, her testimony against Tyrion at his trial, and the reveal that she was sleeping with his father, Tywin, turned her from a sympathetic love interest into one of the most resented characters of the mid-series.
9. Ser Meryn Trant
Meryn Trant was a "vicious coward" in the truest sense. He was a member of the Kingsguard who took orders from a child to beat Sansa Stark and was later revealed to be a pedophile. His gruesome death at the hands of Arya was a rare moment of pure justice.
8. Lysa Arryn
Lysa was a cocktail of instability and jealousy. From the deeply uncomfortable breastfeeding scenes with her school-aged son to her willingness to murder her own niece (Sansa) over a man who clearly didn't love her, she was a character that fans were relieved to see exit through the Moon Door.
7. Olly
The most hated child in Westeros. While his anger toward the Wildlings was understandable after they raided his village, his betrayal and final stabbing of Jon Snow turned the entire fanbase against him. In a show filled with monsters, Olly became the face of "bitter betrayal."
6. Littlefinger (Petyr Baelish)
The man who started it all. Every tragedy in the series can be traced back to his manipulation of Lysa Arryn and Ned Stark. While brilliant, his "slimy" nature and his creepy obsession with Catelyn (and later Sansa) made his eventual execution at Winterfell one of the most satisfying moments in the show.
5. Euron Greyjoy
Even today, Euron remains a source of frustration for many. Fans of the books hate him because the show turned a terrifying, mystical warlock into a "Jack Sparrow-style" caricature. Show fans hate him because he was an arrogant, quip-heavy plot device who seemed to have "teleporting" ships and managed to kill a dragon with an unlikely cross-bow shot.
4. Cersei Lannister
While some admire her strategic mind, Cersei’s narcissism and ruthless disregard for anyone outside her immediate family (and eventually even them) made her a primary antagonist for eight seasons. Her "Queen of Hate" status was cemented when she blew up the Great Sept of Baelor, killing hundreds just to avoid a trial.
3. Walder Frey
The architect of the Red Wedding. In a world of shifting loyalties, Walder Frey committed the ultimate sin: violating "Guest Right." Slaughtering a pregnant woman, a mother, and a king at a wedding dinner made him a permanent fixture on every fan's "must-die" list. His petty, lecherous nature only added to the rot.
2. Joffrey Baratheon
The original "boy king" you loved to hate. Joffrey was the embodiment of entitlement and cowardice. What made him so detestable wasn't just his cruelty, like the execution of Ned Stark, but the fact that he was a sniveling bully who hid behind his mother and his crown the moment he faced a real threat.
1. Ramsay Bolton
Ramsay sits firmly at the top because he wasn't just a villain; he was a sadist who took genuine joy in the physical and psychological destruction of others. From the systematic breaking of Theon Greyjoy into "Reek" to his horrific treatment of Sansa Stark, Ramsay represented a level of pure, unadulterated evil that made Joffrey look like an amateur.
