If there’s one anime trend that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, it’s remakes. From Fullmetal Alchemist to Hunter x Hunter, anime have been refurbished for the better. Naruto might follow in the same footsteps, especially with Mr. Beast’s plans for the iconic series.
Mr. Beast pushes for Naruto’s anime remake
Of late, AniTV shared the news of Wit Studio’s remake of One Piece on X. The upcoming remake, animated by Wit Studio and distributed by Netflix, will keep fillers to a minimum.
What followed was Mr. Beast pushing for Naruto’s remake in the comments. He said, “CAN WE PLEASE GET ONE FOR NARUTO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I’LL HELP FUND IT.” The American YouTuber is an avid anime fan and enthusiast who has stated his love for the series many times.
He previously collaborated with Naruto on a special line of merchandise almost a month ago. This was in partnership with Viz Media, where they launched exclusive hoodies, caps, and collectibles.
Not only that, Naruto’s voice actress Junko Takeuchi has been doing the dubbed content for the YouTuber since 2022. It’s a dream come true for Mr. Beast, and the collaboration went viral online.
The concerns regarding Naruto’s remake are reasonable for many reasons. Studio Pierrot botched the animation, as some fans suggest, while others deem it a pacing issue, but that’s not it. The exorbitant amount of fillers was what made fans feel bummed out for the most part.
The anime has had pacing issues overall because of the filler episodes that became a problem even in the Shippuden series. The plot holes and incessant retcons add to the continuity problem, which is also something that has been speculated by many readers and viewers.
Remaking Naruto seems ideal, though there hasn’t been any confirmation as of now. If studios were to take on the project, it could potentially alter the course of storytelling and the underlying issues within the series.
Overall, though, the anime is a banger. It redefined tropes and themes by bringing out complex emotions through flawed characters. Be it Sasuke, Pain, or Naruto himself, Masashi Kishimoto’s ninja story remains a shonen masterpiece for this very reason.
