If there’s one film that stands as one of the most anticipated releases of 2026, it’s Dune: Part 3. Fans are eagerly waiting for the movie’s release. The cast shared their insights on their characters, but for Rebecca Ferguson, it’s a weird feeling, and here’s why.
Rebecca Ferguson on her limited scenes in Dune: Part 3
Rebecca Ferguson opened up about the final film and her thoughts lately. In an interview with Variety, she said, “I get one scene… it was a weird feeling, walking onto a set that you know so well and knowing that you don’t have a part of it. There’s a lot of F—, and the acceptance of this is just what it is.”
Ferguson played the role of Lady Jessica Atreides in the first two films. She was hailed for her performance and eventually won the 2025 Saturn Award for Supporting Actress in Dune: Part Two.
The final film, however, is set around 17 years after the events of the second film. It will focus on Paul Atreides and his strained relationship with his family. There will also be a plot to overthrow and execute him.
So, where exactly is Lady Jessica in all of this? She is in Caladan, and even in the book, the character doesn’t have any moments. For the film, especially, the team made sure to include Fergusson, so it’s a movie-specific scene where the actress will be featured.
She did mention the entire feeling being strange: “The script is great; I’ve read it. I think it’s going to be fantastic, but my journey was number one and two. I don’t even think [Lady Jessica] was supposed to be in three, and then Denis was like, ‘I need to have one scene.’“
Aside from Ferguson, Robert Pattinson will join the cast as the villain. Nakoa Wolf-Momoa and Ida Brooke are also new additions to the movie. They’ll play the role of Paul Atreides’ children.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Timothée Chalamet, and Zendaya will reprise their roles as Alia, Paul, and Chani, respectively. The film is scheduled for release on 18th December 2026.
