Daredevil: Born Again is back with season 2. Charlie Cox is set to return as the lead character Matt Murdock. The show is not for the faint-hearted, and there’s a particular reason why even the actor made sure his son steers clear of watching the show. But what exactly is it?

Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! He spoke about his son and how he doesn’t let him watch the show. “I’ve had him come on set on days where we do fun stuff that isn’t too violent… but I do sometimes FaceTime with him when I’m in the full costume.”
The actor gave a perfectly sound reason for not letting his son watch the gore and violence: “He’s too young (6 years old).” Parental supervision seems like the perfect reason not to let kids fall into the rabbit hole.
Daredevil has dark, gory, and mature themes as well as scenes that do not align well with a younger audience. So it is a smart decision to keep the kids at bay regarding R-rated shows. Cox has previously shed light on his relationship with his son.
He gave a glimpse of how his son perceives him as a superhero. Back in December 2025, he told Variety that his son indeed believes that his father is a superhero. He said, “My son thinks I’m a superhero. I FaceTime with him when I’m in the full [costume], which is quite sweet. And the look on his face, his eyes just wide.”
He also added, saying, “I just hope it doesn’t get to a point where I have to prove in real-life circumstances.” This is actually amusing when you come to think of it. Previously, Henry Cavill, too, was put in a tough spot.
Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2, will premiere on 24th March. Cox will return in the central role of Matt Murdock. The show will have amped up action scenes and will also feature new additions. Matthew Lillard will also join Season 2, and he’s all set to play the role of Mr. Charles. The series will be available for streaming on Disney+
