Warner Bros. and Paramount Skydance’s merger is the talk of the town. It was in February that Netflix walked out of this merger to aid Paramount in acquiring the WB studios, but there’s an interesting update regarding this. The WB CEO will receive a hefty amount of compensation, and here’s how.

Warner Bros CEO is raking in the money

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav will receive $887 million. This is compensation that he will receive as a part of the Paramount merger. Zaslav’s net worth is estimated at around 600 million dollars.

The compensation is raking in money for the CEO, but it leaves room for questions among fans. Ever since the merger deal was announced, people have questioned and even critiqued it. From piling debts to layoffs, netizens have ruled out the idea of the collaboration as being absurd.

Some reports suggest that the entire deal is estimated to be around 111 billion dollars. The compensation, on the other hand, includes cash severance, equity, and health coverage reimbursement.

This is after the company filed with the SEC on Monday, revealing the nature of the business, deal, and the nitty-gritties that go into the entire merger process.

Zaslav is hopeful about the deal nonetheless, and he even celebrated the Oscar wins. The Warner Bros. CEO threw a party in celebration of Sinners and One Battle After Another’s nominations. Of late, the CEO sent out his heartfelt thanks on Monday, that is, March 16th. He said, “The films honored last night represent the very best of our company: bold creative vision, extraordinary craftsmanship, and the kind of storytelling that moves audiences around the world.”

Sinners won four Oscars, while One Battle After Another won six Oscars. What made it a historic win was Michael B. Jordan bagging the Best Actor Award.

Amidst the merger, Zaslav also expressed his desire to replace the film group’s co-heads. It also raises further questions about massive layoffs and budget cuts. This could eventually determine a potential snub of upcoming film projects, which may or may not get greenlit as a result.
