Raven-Symoné, known for playing Raven Baxter on Disney’s That’s So Raven, is in the face of yet another controversy. Symoné recently shut down a comparison prompted by an interviewer regarding Miley Cyrus. The actress subtly shaded the Wrecking Ball singer.
Raven-Symoné shades fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus
Raven-Symone appeared on The Shade Room, where she was asked about her idea of a Disney Mount Rushmore. This was a March 10th episode hosted by Anjelica Nwandu. She listed her favorites and said, “Me, Hilary [Duff], Shia [Laboeuf]. I would also put Jett Jackson (Lee Thompson Young), not Miley.”
“I love you, Miley, but she came after. [Lee] is no longer with us, but he was the first Black show on Disney. I believe he should be on Mt. Rushmore. He definitely deserves a spot.”For context, the actors mentioned in Symone’s statement all started their careers as Disney stars.
It gave them their breakthrough to fame, and the same goes for Raven-Symoné. Both Raven-Symone and Miley Cyrus starred in some of the most iconic shows that ultimately shaped pop culture for years to come.
The Hannah Montana star was also previously critiqued by Symone for her privilege. Cyrus’s exclusion from Symone’s ideal Mount Rushmore isn’t surprising. The That’s So Raven Star was interviewed by Jason Lee, where she revealed that she was relatively more famous than Cyrus.

“I’ll say this, I was famous at 3 years old, and I had been on multiple television shows before I got on That’s So Raven. Disney knew it, but also kind of didn’t play that up to build the brand of That’s so Raven. So when other ladies came to the network to then use that platform and push it forward, I was already sitting in my ego knowing that… you know.. I don’t really talk to that many actresses from that network… we were already older, I was 18 on the set, dealing with Orlando, so I had a lot more things to worry about, Miley Cyrus.”
This was back in March 2025, when she sat down and described her experiences as an actress. So far, Miley Cyrus has not responded or made any official comments regarding Symone’s statement.
