Everyone’s girding their loins for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The movie will release in May and will feature the legendary cast. Anne Hathaway, in particular, will return for her iconic role, Andy, and here’s what she has to say about her character’s whereabouts.

Anne Hathaway, who played Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada, opened up about her character. Fandango asked her where her character was all these years, and Hathaway said, “Andy has the closet of someone who worked at runway in her 20s and then had a job where she traveled all over the world, where there are consignment shops. So Andy’s been shopping consignment, and she looks cute, and her choices are expensive, and they’re curated for her, by her.”
Stanley Tucci also shed light on Andy’s and Nigel’s relationship. He was asked where he sees both characters’ friendship 20 years later, to which he said, “Well, surprisingly, together. Or, unsurprisingly, together. They still have that connection that continues through the film, but it becomes more and more complex, I think.”
One of the key moments of the film was Andy and Nigel’s friendship. Nigel helped Emily survive and thrive in Runway. His expertise gave Andy an insight into the world of fashion and helped her remodel herself completely.
Andy, by the end of the movie, leaves Runway to pursue journalism. In the sequel, she returns to Runway to seek help from her former boss and also to help her.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set 20 years after the events of the first film. Andy returns to Runway magazine to assist Miranda Priestly. Apparently, Emily Charlton spearheads a luxury brand that can ensure that Runway magazine thrives. Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep will reprise their legendary roles. The movie will also feature Lady Gaga, Ashley Graham, Calum Harper, and none other than Donatella Versace.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for release on 1st May 2026.
