In a recent interview with podcaster Zach Sang, Madison Beer praised the recently released show Heated Rivalry. Beer told Sang that she had been obsessed with “all the songs” from the series.

“What have I been listening to?… all the songs from Heated Rivalry… ‘My Moon My Man,’” she said. Notably, the song My Moon My Man by Feist is featured in the series during a montage highlighting the intensely emotional and shifting power dynamic between the two hockey players portrayed by Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams.

When Sang asked whether she was watching the show, Beer replied that she had finished it in a single day.

“Watched in one day,” she said. “Literally in fewer hours than the show even runs for,” she jokingly added.

Earlier, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Beer said she was a big fan of the show and sympathized with the lead actors, who now have to deal with the aftermath of its resounding success and sudden public attention.

For those guys… I mean, that’s also what’s scary about social media. People just all of a sudden become these overnight massive celebrities, and they have to change the way they live their life completely,” she said.

The show follows two star hockey players, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, whose fierce rivalry gradually evolves into a secret, long-term relationship they must keep hidden from teammates and media scrutiny. The series explores broader themes such as machismo in sports culture and the challenges surrounding the acceptance of one’s s—– orientation.

The show has six episodes and is currently streaming on HBO Max. It has already been renewed for a second season after becoming the most-watched acquired scripted series in HBO Max history and building a global fanbase.
