10 Most Hated Jujutsu Kaisen Characters, Ranked
10. Momo Nishimiya
Momo is mostly disliked for her perceived hypocrisy during the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Her speech about the hardships of being a female sorcerer felt misplaced to fans when directed at Nobara Kugisaki, who notably didn't care about those societal standards, and she is often criticized for being underpowered compared to the rest of the cast.
9. Mei Mei
While she is undeniably cool and capable, Mei Mei's "hated" status comes from her extreme greed and her deeply uncomfortable relationship with her younger brother, Ui Ui. Her willingness to abandon the heroes during the Shibuya Incident as soon as it became financially inconvenient cemented her as a character fans find hard to root for.
8. Hana Kurusu
Hana earned a spot on this list primarily for a single, disastrous decision. During the "Culling Game" arc, her romantic infatuation with Megumi Fushiguro allowed Sukuna to trick her easily. Fans were frustrated that such a powerful character (holding the Angel) was sidelined because of a "shojo manga" trope at a critical moment.
7. Jogo
Jogo is a classic "love to hate" villain. His arrogance, constantly believing he can take on Gojo or Sukuna only to be utterly dismantled, made him a bit of a meme. However, his brutal murder of Nanami Kento in Shibuya ensured that fans would never truly forgive him.
6. Haruta Shigemo
Haruta is designed to be annoying. With his "miracle" cursed technique and his penchant for attacking vulnerable or non-combatant characters (like the managers), he represents a cowardly brand of evil. His design and personality are intentionally grating, and his eventual "accidental" death was celebrated by much of the community.
5. Kenjaku
As the mastermind behind almost every tragedy in the series, Kenjaku is despised for his cold, clinical approach to human suffering. While he is a brilliant antagonist, his desecration of Suguru Geto’s body and his role in the sealing of Satoru Gojo made him a primary target of fan hatred for years.
4. Yoshinobu Gakuganji
The Principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High represents the rigid, suffocating traditionalism of the higher-ups. Fans hated him early on for ordering the assassination of Yuji Itadori, and that hatred peaked when he executed the beloved Principal Yaga. While he shows some regret later, for many, the damage was already done.
3. Naoya Zenin
Naoya is arguably the most "realistic" villain in the series. He is a misogynistic, arrogant elitist who represents everything wrong with the Zenin clan. His disdain for Maki and his obsession with Toji Fushiguro made him a character fans desperately wanted to see humbled, and his eventual fate at the hands of the Zenin women was a massive "fan-service" moment.
2. Mahito
Mahito is pure, unadulterated malice. He doesn't have a tragic backstory or a complex goal; he just lives to cause pain. From the manipulation and death of Junpei Yoshino to the "deaths" of Nanami and (potentially) Nobara, Mahito is responsible for the most heartbreaking moments in the series. He is a phenomenal villain because of how much everyone wants to see him suffer.
1. Ryomen Sukuna
As of the current 2026 discussions, Sukuna has solidified his spot at the top. While he has many "fans" who admire his power, the collective hatred for him peaked during the "Shinjuku Showdown." His systematic defeat of fan-favorite characters, especially the shocking conclusion of his battle with Satoru Gojo, has left a significant portion of the fanbase feeling a deep, personal resentment toward the King of Curses.
