Euphoria Season 3 is finally on its way after a series of delays, though rumors suggest the network is not satisfied with the current pace of the series’ promotion. As fans wait for the return of their favorite series, HBO is reportedly planning a new strategy to increase audience engagement. The upcoming season is set to bring major changes to the storyline, as it is the first new series since 2022.

HBO Adjusts Marketing Strategy

According to reports, HBO is in the process of launching an “emergency plan” to build up the buzz for Euphoria Season 3. Apparently, the company feels the early marketing campaign for the show failed to generate the level of buzz expected for one of their biggest shows.

Despite issues with the show’s marketing, production is going as planned. Filming for the third season of Euphoria began in January 2025, following several delays due to the Hollywood strikes.

Season 3 is also expected to bring another dramatic change to the storyline. The five-year time jump is the biggest creative gamble in HBO history. Moving from high school drama to “early adulthood” (Maddy in a talent agency, Lexi as a showrunner’s assistant, and Nate and Cassie engaged) is a bold departure.

The series’ trailer has already received major attention online. A trailer was released in January 2026 and reportedly accumulated 100 million views in the first 48 hours. This is evidence that the series is still popular despite the long gap between seasons.

The series continues with its existing cast, including Zendaya, who reprises her pivotal role as Rue. This is because her performance in the series has already received major critical acclaim and awards, making it a defining series on the HBO platform.

Although, as we know, this might make the last season of the saga, Casey Bloys (HBO CEO) has said a fourth season isn’t off the table, and the tone of this season is heavily marketed as a grand, cinematic conclusion to Euphoria.

And not just that, the show has moved from its classic aesthetic to a massive scale, using 65mm film for the first time, signaling that HBO is treating this as their premier “event” series of the year.

Euphoria Season 3 is expected to premiere on April 12, 2026. New episodes are expected to be released weekly on Sundays.
