Ryan Gosling’s ‘Project Hail Mary’ to reach $60M milestone
Ryan Gosling is all prepped up to take over the film scene with his new sci-fi flick Project Hail Mary. Global Box Office estimated that the film will cross $60M on its domestic opening weekend. It is also one of the most expensive film projects from Amazon/MGM. They released the trailer in June 2025, and it has sparked interest from viewers and sci-fi enthusiasts worldwide.
The screenplay is written by Drew Goddard, while the direction is done primarily by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. It is based on Andy Weir’s 2021 novel of the same name. It is one of the high-budget films with an estimated cost of $248 million. The domestic record, in this case, can ultimately shape it or break it.
So far, MGM’s trailer has gained 23 million views, and it was also reported that the clip has garnered around 400 million views on social media, including Instagram and YouTube, within just a week. In the movie, Ryan Gosling plays Dr. Hyland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up with no memory of his own. His only mission is to save Earth from danger.
Grace is joined by his crew members and an unexpected ally, an alien. They must work together to prevent extinction and enable survival. Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Jamez Ortiz, Milana Vayntrub, and Priya Kansara appear in secondary roles, while Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller appear in central roles.
Gosling also co-produced the film along with Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and several others. The movie is scheduled for a global release on March 20th, 2026. It will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video with early access.
