Super Bowl LX, however, isn’t just about football—it’s about trailers, and this year, it seems like Hollywood has some big heavy hitters in line to take advantage of the biggest viewing audience available. Disney is expected to be one of the biggest players of the night, and they have a trailer in line for “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” which marks the first time a Star Wars film will hit the big screen since “The Rise of Skywalker” back in 2019. Fans everywhere are excited, and it’s not just another Disney+ film, but a full return to a galaxy far, far away. There’s also speculation that they may have a trailer in line for “Toy Story 5,” keeping their summer lineup firmly in the spotlight.

Super Bowl LX trailer lineup reshapes blockbuster expectations

What won’t be there, however, may also surprise people. Don’t expect a trailer for “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Sony, it seems, has opted not to have a trailer in the Super Bowl this year, and they’re not alone, with Netflix, Apple, and Amazon/MGM all choosing not to have a trailer in the Super Bowl.

Warner Bros. is also keeping things low-key during the actual broadcast, while DC Studios is being creative. Instead of a Super Bowl ad, which would be expensive, “Supergirl” fans will get a teaser during the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

Why the low-key approach? Because NBC is reportedly charging between $7 million and $10 million for 30 seconds of ad time.

Universal, on the other hand, is going all out. Expect trailers for their upcoming films, such as Steven Spielberg’s alien invasion flick “Disclosure Day,” “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” and “Minions 3.” Missing from the lineup, however, is Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.

Paramount, now under Skydance, is launching a trailer for “Scream 7,” while Lionsgate could be using the pre-game coverage to launch their Michael Jackson biopic “Michael”—a fitting tribute to the King of Pop’s 1993 halftime show.
