Hailee Steinfeld learns what Bills QB Josh Allen thinks about parenthood

Josh Allen reveals baby news with Hailee Steinfeld, embracing fatherhood ahead of busy offseason plans.

Josh Allen is never one to shy away from the big stage, but the next big stage awaiting him has absolutely nothing to do with the game of football. Following his recent media availability, the Buffalo Bills quarterback opened up about something much more intimate, namely becoming a father for the first time with Sinners actress/singer wife, Hailee Steinfeld

Allen, who tied the knot with Steinfeld in a Santa Barbara ceremony on May 31, 2025, revealed that the couple is having a baby in December, quickly becoming one of the biggest off-field storylines of the NFL season. Just this month, Steinfeld made her first public appearance since announcing that she is pregnant, showing off her baby bump on the red carpet of the Golden Globes—a quiet but potent statement that quickly got everyone talking.

When asked if he had begun planning the offseason around the arrival of the baby, Allen gave a refreshingly honest answer that seemed to grasp the fact that no matter how much planning is done, there are just some things that cannot be prepared for. “To the best of our abilities, I’ve known this for well in advance. I have siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends who have kids, I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance.”

“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride, and it’s something that we’re going to figure out as we go, like everything else.”

“This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life—being a dad,” Allen said. “I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one,” Allen said.

While he made it clear how much he loves football and his role as quarterback of the Bills, he didn’t hesitate to put fatherhood above all else. What was perhaps most notable was the level of enthusiasm he showed as he talked about the upcoming experience of becoming a dad. Allen talked about it with pride, stating it was something he and Steinfeld are prepared to figure out as they go along, taking it one step at a time. For the player who prides himself on leadership and competitiveness on the field, there was perhaps something of a softer side of Josh Allen on display here.

As the offseason draws near, Allen may soon turn his attention away from the gridiron and toward the nursery—but if he’s any indication, he seems ready for the task at hand. And perhaps most importantly, it’s difficult not to want to wish Allen the best of luck as he becomes a father.
