In light of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ premiering later this month, one of its stars is already scheduling its next big series. One such series is none other than HBO’s upcoming ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff series, as Tanzyn Crawford, known as Tanselle Too-Tall, has now been cast in Netflix’s eagerly awaited live-action series based on ‘Assassin’s Creed’!

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, set to unroll on January 18, 2026, is touted to be among the biggest fantasy launches of the year by HBO. Based on George R. R. Martin’s novella series “Dunk and Egg,” the series will be set decades before Game of Thrones, with Ser Duncan the Tall, portrayed by Peter Claffey, and his protégé, Egg. Crawford’s character, Tanselle, is a wandering puppeteer who finds herself emotionally involved with Dunk. This makes her an integral part of the otherwise newcomer-heavy cast.

Crawford has been added to the cast of Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed alongside other actors Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Zachary Hart, and Laura Marcus, according to Deadline. Although nothing has been revealed regarding her role, Crawford is included in a video game adaptation project with one of the most ambitious casts.

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most beloved and iconic IPs to emerge in the video game industry. Founded by the giant video game publishing powerhouse Ubisoft in the year 2007, the success and fame that the series enjoys today are a testament to its success. In essence, the IP primarily explores the Animus computer device that enables the protagonist to return to the memories of his ancestors and discover the centuries-long battle between the ‘Assassins’ and the infamous ‘Templar Order.’

There was a previous attempt at a live-action adaptation from 2016, which starred Michael Fassbender in Assassin’s Creed. This received a very poor reaction from critics and audiences alike. The Netflix series, however, comes at an opportune moment when live-action adaptations finally seem to be steadying themselves. There have been success stories like The Last of Us and Fallout, which have actually proved that a longer format like TV works when it comes to adapting mythologies.

Netflix has not yet confirmed whether the adaptation will come from the games or an original story within the same setting. This gives Crawford the opportunity to make appearances within various time periods—either as a modern-day operative who works alongside the Animus, an assassin within the past, or an innocent caught up in the war. With A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms kicking off the year and Assassin’s Creed to follow, Crawford is quickly making a name for herself as a rising force within the fantasy genre. If these projects prove to be hits for HBO or Ubisoft, she will likely be a household name within the next year or so across two of the most lucrative IPs in the industry.
