Avengers Doomsday has all fans stoked up in the best way possible. The much-awaited movie will be released this year, and there are lots of speculations regarding additional cast and cameos. Apparently, Alan Cumming gave a sneak peek into the secret characters, and here’s what the actor said!
Alan Cumming speaks on character cameos
In an interview with Deadline, Alan Cumming spoke about his upcoming projects but also gave a tease of a secret character’s addition in the script. “Sometimes there were secret names in it because they didn’t want to let out this certain character was coming back, so they called them somebody else in the script. It was so confusing.”
This isn’t uncommon for Directors to redact the names of actors in the script. Take Lana Condor, for instance, especially with her addition in XO Kitty’s Season 3. The actress shared how the Director wanted to keep it all discreet.
The producers eventually used a different name to call her character in the script. This also holds for the Avengers: Doomsday movie, which left fans speculating about what characters might potentially return to the movie.
Of late, there have been several rumors of Hugh Jackman returning to the Avengers: Doomsday movie in his iconic role as Wolverine. This is mainly because the movie features the og cast from X-Men, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Alan Cumming.
Jackman, later, jokingly refuted the claims, which also led most fans to believe that the actors might be keeping the whole cameo thing a secret; hence, most of the secret character cameos are undisclosed for now.
As for Cumming, he will reprise his role as Nightcrawler in the Avengers: Doomsday and will appear alongside Rebecca Romjin, who will also return to her role as Mystique.
Alan Cumming is also geared up for the sequel to the 1997 film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. He will reprise his role as Sandy Frink in the untitled sequel, which is currently in its pre-production stages.
