Oscar Isaac swept the floor with his performance in Moon Knight back in 2022. It’s true, especially for fans who hailed his performance, yet the actor didn’t return to Marvel Studios, but it seems like there are several interesting updates regarding his contract with the firm. Let’s unpack this!
Jeremy Slater shares update on Oscar Isaac’s Marvel Studios contract
Jeremy Slater, creator of Moon Knight, recently spoke to Comic Book, where she shared insight about Oscar Isaac’s contract. He spoke about the nature of the contract and the actor’s potential return. “The contract [he] signed was very much like, we will do more stories when we find stories that he is creatively excited to tell… He’s really creatively involved in the future of that character.”
Moon Knight is an underdog, especially when it comes to Marvel comics. From defeating Bullseye and The Punisher to incapacitating Captain Marvel, the character sure deserves some praise.
Isaac’s portrayal of Moon Knight perfectly captured the character’s inner conflicts, especially with how he did the personality switch. It was marvelous in more ways than one.
It did upset many fans that the actor did not return for a second season, mainly because the 2022 series was written off as a limited series. Rather, Marvel sure has some big plans for the character.
That’s because Isaac himself said that there is a scope for the character to return when asked by Josh Horowitz in the Happy Sad Confused podcast in April 2026. The actor said:
“Yeah, there was an interesting conversation about Midnight Sons. It’s tonally very important because we’re playing with real stuff [DID] in that one. It’s expressing something very real, challenging, and difficult, so for me, I have a lot of respect for that. I feel like if you’re going to do it, you have to take it really seriously, even though it’s a crazy comic book. That’s what it’s trying to do. It’s doing both of those things at once.”
As of now, there have been heavy speculations and rumors about the actor returning to the Marvel scene. The Studios, however, have yet to confirm his involvement in the said movie.
