Whitney Leavitt announces exit from ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’

Whitney Leavitt exits The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to pursue new opportunities, announcing her departure during her final Broadway performance.

Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has resumed production after a brief halt following investigations into domestic violence allegations involving two of its cast members. Now, it seems another member, Whitney Leavitt, will also not be a part of the show anymore. She made the announcement during her final performance in the Broadway musical Chicago.

Whitney Leavitt wants to “challenge” herself beyond the realm of reality TV shows

As per media reports, Whitney Leavitt has officially exited Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She has been part of the show’s cast since its debut in 2024. However, she has been exploring other opportunities while simultaneously being part of the show. She was part of Dancing with the Stars season 34 cast, partnering with professional dancer Mark Ballas. Right after her stint in the dance competition show, she made a successful Broadway debut, portraying the role of Roxie Heart in Chicago.

During her final performance in the Broadway musical, she read out a mock headline about her own exit while in character, which prompted cheers from the audience. In a video published by TMZ, she can be heard saying, “Oh, erm, what is that? Let me see. Whitney Leavitt announces she’s leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026, she stated that she wanted to test herself beyond the reality TV format. “I’m figuring it out in real time,” she said, adding, “We’re figuring it out together, but it feels like that’s the trajectory of where it’s going. But again, I wouldn’t be where I am without it, but it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”

However, Leavitt has not confirmed when she is going to exit the series. The show itself has been dealing with production pauses and off-screen controversies regarding other cast members. However, filming for season 5 has resumed, and it cannot be said with certainty if she is going to be part of the show as a full-time cast member or as a guest star. As per media reports, scenes involving other cast members visiting her during one of her performances of Chicago have already been filmed. It is unclear how much of Leavitt will remain in the final cut.

Following her Broadway run, she is reportedly set to make her feature film debut in All For Love, which she is also executive producing. Apart from her creative pursuits, she has also ventured into entrepreneurship as the chief creative and brand officer of Cool Sips, a New York-based dirty soda brand.
