A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is yet another masterpiece from the GoT franchise. It’s hailed for its originality, authenticity, and a brilliant yet dedicated cast. This goes for Dexter Sol Ansell, who took his sincerity a notch further for season 2, so let’s take a look!
Dexter Sol Ansell unveils new look for A Knight of Seven Kingdoms S2
On his Instagram account, Dexter Sol Ansell shared a reel of him going bald for the second season with the caption “Back to Bald.”
“Hi, guys. Just about to go and shave my hair once again for filming. I’ll see you when I’m bald. Back to bald. See you in series two. Feel like you’re back to normal.”
The actor shared the entire scene of going bald with his fans on Instagram, where he then donned the bald look, saying, “Back to Bold.” He gushed about shaving his head for the role and seemed delighted and enthusiastic.
That’s not it, because most fans praised and encouraged him. After all, you can’t be Egg without actually looking the part, right? It’s also because Aegon has a whole intention and purpose behind losing hair in the books.
A Knight of Seven Kingdoms is based on George R.R Martin’s novels The Tales of Dunk and Egg. It is set approximately a century before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire within Westeros.
Egg is none other than Aegon V Targaryen, who hides his real identity of being a Targaryen, the distinct feature being silver locks. This was done to protect himself from exposing his true self.
The stories explore Dunk and his adventures as he sets out as a knight alongside Egg, who acts as his squire. The books also expand on Aegon V’s background and his subsequent decisions to hide away and remain discreet.
Not only that, but the books take an in-depth dive into the Blackfyre Rebellion and the unrest in Westeros, as well as Ser Duncan the Tall’s friendship with Egg, and also Aegon V’s journey as a descendant of the Targaryen family.
A Knight of Seven Kingdoms Season 2 is slated for release in 2027.
