HBO Max is here with its newest reveal. The network recently revealed its first-ever look at the upcoming show, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, and here’s everything we know so far!

Stuart Bloom returns as lead in HBO Max’s new show

As reported, HBO Max unveiled visuals from its upcoming series, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. It features Kevin Sussman in the role of Stuart Bloom, and that’s not it.

The spin-off series has Bloom as the lead, where he unleashes havoc after accidentally breaking Leonard’s and Sheldon’s device. This causes a multiverse armageddon, but will Stuart be able to save the day, really?

Joining Sussman are Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and John Ross Bowie, who reprise their roles as Bert, Denise, and Barry, respectively. These are all actors who previously starred in secondary roles in The Big Bang Theory.

The sequel is written by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Zak Penn. Lorre and Prady previously worked together on The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, and this is a much-awaited spinoff series within the franchise.

Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman, owned the Comic Center of Pasadena, which soon became a hangout hub for Sheldon and his group. They would frequent the store and subsequently became good friends with Bloom.

Unlike Sheldon and Leonard, Bloom’s character is rather awkward and eccentric, but what makes him unique is his self-deprecating humor. This is precisely what makes him all the more relatable.

To have Stuart navigate chaos that is his own doing and making would be a thrill to witness. His tender relationship with Denise, alongside his friendship with Barry and Bert, adds to the comic relief.

Fans’ response to this was mixed; for some, this news was like a bolt from the blue, while for others, the plot seemed completely random. There were also some opinions that spin-offs shouldn’t happen and that the series should be left alone.

However, most fans feel that the series might take a promising turn as the plot progresses.

Stuart Bloom Fails to Save the Universe is slated for release in July 2026.
