The much-anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theatres on July 31, 2026. The next installment of the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise boasts a huge ensemble, and Sadie Sink’s potential role is being discussed extensively online. Now, it appears that multiple insider reports suggest she might portray Jean Grey in the movie.

Various insider reports corroborate Sadie Sink playing Jean Grey

Several industry insiders are pointing toward the same claim: Sadie Sink could play Jean Grey in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. On a recent episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider reaffirmed his earlier rumor, stating it is “in fact true” that Sink portrays Grey.

On the other hand, based on reports from insider Cryptic HD QUALITY, Sink will play the mutant, with the character’s powers featuring a new visual style reportedly inspired by X-Men ’97 visuals. Furthermore, the reports suggest she has signed a multi-film deal with Marvel Studios to play the character. The source also claimed that Sink’s Jean Grey will showcase visible telekinetic and telepathic abilities.

Meanwhile, Alex Perez initially speculated that Sink could play other roles like Shathra. However, he has since pivoted as new information emerged and is now fully backing the Jean Grey casting. Considering Marvel’s secretiveness and deviation tactics, his shift is notable as it reflects evolving production intel.

James Mack also supported the reports of Sink playing Jean Grey by disclosing information about mutant-related elements in the film. His information hints that Brand New Day may begin integrating mutants into Spider-Man’s corner of the MCU.

Nevertheless, the casting has not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios, and her role remains under wraps. However, leaked set photos reportedly show Sink in a costume featuring yellow and green, consistent with the comic book designs of Jean Grey. If true, the casting would mark a major step in introducing core X-Men characters into the MCU outside of standalone mutant projects.

It increasingly appears that the MCU could be constructing story arcs that hint at a stronger crossover between Spider-Man and the mutant universes.

The upcoming film sees Tom Holland return as Peter Parker, who is forced to rebuild his life from the ground up after Doctor Strange’s spell erases his existence from everyone’s memory. As he attempts to rebuild ties with his past, including rekindling his relationship with his love interest MJ, Spider-Man finds himself up against gritty, New York street-level threats such as Punisher and Scorpion. Notably, Sadie Sink has not featured in any of the trailers.
