The Rolling Stones recently did an exclusive interview with both James Cameron and Billie Eilish. The singer-songwriter is all set to tour for her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

It was reported that Cameron approached her for transforming the concert into a 3D show, to which her answer was “an obviously resounding yes,” as she revealed in the interview.

She also revealed that Cameron treated her like an equal. It is also one of the first times we see the Director working with a musical medium. He previously stated that he almost directed Wicked in a podcast, The Town with Matt Beloni.

“The kind of movies that I like to watch, let’s say Dune or even Wicked—I almost made Wicked back when. I really love the story, I mean, The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite [movies]. This is going back 15 years.”

Most of Cameron’s creative process brings emotions like joy and wonder to life. This is especially the case with Avatar, which leaves the viewers wanting more. There is a certain sense of visceral quality in which he approaches the medium altogether.

Eilish will be co-directing the movie with Cameron, and it would definitely be interesting to see how their creative processes would merge. Her album Hit Me Soft and Hard reflects vulnerability and raw emotions.

It is a take on relationships and emotions as Eilish experiments with alternative pop while uncovering the meandering nature of her own emotions. Most of her songs brilliantly describe grief, loss, and yearning, and are often praised for highlighting the somber tones.

Her vocal style and flair are what make her one of the most unique artists of this generation, as many fans suggest.

Hit Me Hard and Soft is slated for release in theaters on 8th May 2026.
