Warner Bros. is all geared up and ready to go with its 2026 releases. Not only that, but the studio is also working on some exciting projects, including a remake, and for this particular project, they seem to have found their pick for the lead in Glen Powell. Here’s everything we know so far about the whole deal!
Warner Bros eyeing Glen Powell for ‘Them’ remake
As reported by Daniel RPK on X, Glen Powell is currently being eyed for the lead role in a Warner Bros movie. It will be a remake of the 1954 classic horror movie Them!
The movie starred James Whitmore and Joan Weldon in central roles and was directed by Gordon Douglas. It explored the story of scientists who work in tandem to protect humanity at all costs. The reason? Ants that wreak havoc and run amok after an experiment mutated them into ginormous beings in Mexico.
These ants are not your common house insects, no! They are dangerous and nefarious man-eaters that threaten the whole of human civilization. Sounds just about right, and Powell would fit right into it!
The actor has previously starred in Twisters and will feature in some exciting and promising sci-fi and action flicks this year. He will star opposite Jenna Ortega in The Great Beyond, which is slated for release in November 2026.
Not only that, the actor is currently working on The Natural Order, which is in its pre-production stages. The movie will be directed by Barry Jenkins and will be co-produced by Matt Aldrich, who wrote the unpublished version of the script on which the movie is solely based.
Powell seems like the perfect pick for the lead role, as he has a penchant for horror movies. He once stated that Texas Chainsaw happens to be one of his favorite movies in an interview with Variety.
“I’m realizing I’m in a position in which the things that I really love, properties that I really love and care about… Texas Chain Saw is one of, I think, the most brilliant horror movies.”
As for Them! Remake, so far, no release date has yet been announced or made official.
