Celebrities getting plastic surgeries has become way more common than you would think. There have been various debates about whether an actor has gotten work done or not, and it seems to be the case with Erin Moriarty. The Boys’ actress was under public scrutiny, but here’s everything we know about the situation so far.
The truth behind Erin Morarty’s transformation
On X, Hollywood Horror Museum claimed to have interacted with Moriarty and vouched that the actress didn’t have plastic surgery done to her.
They also validated Moriarty’s claim of her having Graves disease, which she once confirmed before. The account also added to that, saying that the condition made her almost immobile and also enabled heavy weight loss.
Back in July 2025, Erin Moriarty took to Instagram to talk about her being diagnosed with Graves’ disease. She spoke about how the autoimmune disease affected her deeply, both physically and mentally, saying:
A month ago, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on. It’s been increasing in strength ever since. If yours is dimming, even slightly, go get checked. Don’t “s–k it up” and transcend suffering; you deserve to be comfy. S–t’s hard enough as is.
It all started when Moriarty made an appearance on the Megyn Kelly show in 2024, which sparked rumors of her having gotten work done to her face. Fans bashed her on the internet after which she made the post in 2025.
This isn’t a first for movie stars, as Selena Gomez was also previously accused of getting work done, to which the singer rejected all the claims. She spoke about how Lupus affected her greatly, though she did admit to having gotten Botox done.
Moriarty, however, faced fatigue due to immense stress, and as a result, her diagnosis came within a month. Many netizens called it sketchy, while others wholeheartedly poured support for the actress.
The actress is notably popular for playing Annie January, also known as Starlight, in Eric Kripke’s Emmy-winning show The Boys.
