HBO’s Euphoria has become a cult-popular series over the years. It also paved the way for many actors, veterans, and upcoming stars. Chloe Cherry is one of those who almost rolled her eyes in disbelief when she was finally acknowledged for her performance. Here’s what she had to say about the audience’s response.

Chloe Cherry on being acknowledged in Euphoria

Chloe Cherry, who plays Faye in HBO Max’s Euphoria, recently spoke to CinemaBlend about the audience’s praise for her acting. She spoke about the disbelief she had regarding fans’ response to her character, saying:

“I was just really shocked that people even noticed me at all; I’m not even kidding. I literally just thought I was like, “Oh well, you know, the show has such big stars, and my role is so small that, like, people aren’t even going to notice that I was even on it. When it actually became a thing, I was so blown away. I never knew if I was good enough to be like a real actor and to be given a chance to do it, and people say, “You are a good actor.” I just feel so grateful for it.”

Cherry’s character, Faye, was supposed to be a side character with barely 3 lines or so, as she revealed. It all changed after COVID, especially when Sam Levinson changed the fate of her character.

The actress became a regular and was one of the important characters in the show’s second season. Faye is Custer’s girlfriend and a friend of Fezco, Rue’s dealer. Her character is also somewhat inspired by Faye Valentine from the 90s classic anime Cowboy Bebop

Fezco gets imprisoned while Faye joins Rue in her new ventures as a mule. Both of them now work with Laurie as their couriers, where they are met with dangerous situations as potential smugglers.

Earlier on, Cherry was trolled heavily for her appearance that resembled Francine from American Dad, as suggested by Netizens. The trolls mocked her through and through, as well as Levinson, for her casting. However, some fans have praised her acting and her overall energy, while other viewers remain divided.

Euphoria Season 3 is available for streaming on HBO Max.
