The year 2026 is all about releases and also projects being axed. Kerri Strug’s biopic movie, Perfect, is the newest one to be dropped by Netflix, and this is after Millie Bobby Brown walked out of the film. But what happened exactly? Let’s take a look!
Netflix axes ‘Perfect’ following Millie Bobby Brown’s exit
As reported by Variety, Millie Bobby Brown has now exited the Kerri Strug biopic named ‘Perfect.’ The reasons for her exit, so far, have been speculated to be the actress having creative differences with the team.
Earlier, in 2025, the project was greenlit by Netflix, and Mia Coppola was finalized as the director behind the film. It was also recently that Millie Bobby Brown made headlines after reports that she was reportedly in talks to be cast in the lead role.
Kerri Strug was the lead member of the gymnastic team of five athletes named The Magnificent Seven. She led her team to victory in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics despite her grave ankle injury. Strug is regarded as one of the glorious figures in the history of American Sports.
The upcoming biopic took inspiration and instances from Strug’s memoir Landing on My Feet: A Diary of Dreams. The book was published in 1997 and spoke about her journey as a gymnast, her setbacks, and her eventual breakthrough in the Olympics.
In 2025, Olivia Wilde was initially going to direct the biopic with Thomasin McKenzie as the lead. However, Coppola took over the project, and Wilde dropped the project, citing scheduling differences.
After the news of Brown exiting the film broke out, many fans have theorized that it could be the actress’s conflict and attitude that could have led to this, though no reports have suggested this as of now.
After Brown’s exit, the team has completely scrapped the idea altogether. They have dropped the project entirely, and there has been no new casting or recasting for that matter, as Variety reported.
The showrunners, directors, and even spokespersons of Netflix are yet to comment on Brown’s exit and the film being axed entirely.
