Tim Burton’s goth mystery series, Wednesday, is currently working on its third season. It’s sure to amp up the macabre, the gore, the dark and disturbing, and the gnarly elements. But guess what? The series has the most promising cast for its upcoming season, so let’s take a look.

Wednesday Season 3 reveals an illustrious cast

As reported by Discussing Film on X, Lena Headey and James Lance will join Season 3 of Wednesday. The show has started filming and is currently in production. Headey is known for her magnanimous role in HBO’s power-packed series Game of Thrones. She stood out in her character as Cersei Lannister. It was a delight to see the actress bring out the nefariousness and the complexities of the Lannister Queen.

So much so that the fans both praised her acting while simultaneously hating on her character. That’s a job well done, but that’s not it.

We’ve got James Lance, known for playing Trent Crimm on Ted Lasso. He also appeared in The Canterville Ghost, The Famous Five, Tinsel Town, and many other TV shows as well as movies.

Both Lance and Headey are seasoned actors who have worked in different genres. It would be a complete treat to see both actors bring out their range for Burton’s horror-mystery series.

There’s suspense, gore, body horror, macabre elements, and carnage to say the least. With each season, Burton elevates the ever-present psychological horror in the series. The same goes for Season 3, and here’s where it gets interesting.

Eva Green has joined the cast as Aunt Ophelia. She is mysterious, brooding, yet unquestionably powerful. This is precisely why Grandmama kept her hidden, away from Wednesday’s existence and even possibly Morticia.

The teaser gave a peek into what’s to come for Season 3 as Tyler is on the run. Enid, too, has joined him, and now, Wednesday must figure out a way to bring Enid back and save her.

At the same time, Wednesday will be surrounded by her family’s underlying mystery, which she must uncover. What lies beneath the surface, and what terrors must she face to uncover the truth? Well, we have to brace ourselves for the third season.

Wednesday, Season 3, is scheduled for release in 2027.
