You may know him as Sean Rafferty in House of Guinness, but James Norton’s range is impeccable. From period dramas to rom-coms, he has acted across various genres, and it looks like he might outdo himself. This is especially the case with the actor emerging as fans’ ideal casting for James Bond.
James Norton emerges as fans’ choice for James Bond
Pop Crave shared the statistics of odds regarding James Norton playing James Bond in the future. It increased up to 10% on Polymarket as the stats chart showed up.
Netizens were left divided as a result of the stats, but on the whole, they voiced their wish to see the actor as an antagonist. Others, however, see him as a favorable choice for the lead role in the Bond movie.
But what exactly does James Norton have to say regarding the matter? Well, the actor did open up regarding the rumors and the balderdash and the hogwash, etc. He spoke about this in September 2025 during an interview with The Mirror.
He was asked what his thoughts were regarding fans pitching him to be the next Bond, to which he said, “I think I am too old. I turned 40 this summer. There is no conversation going on. It is as if someone has a bet on in Wolverhampton, and it is nonsense, and I have paparazzi outside my door. It is all speculation.”
He was also asked if he would be open to the role, to which he declined, saying he loves his life right now. He can easily move around pubs and bars, and if he were to decide to take the role, it could easily change the life he has now.
The rumors started right after fans noticed his remarkable performance in McMafia, where he played the role of Alex Godman. He is the son of a Russian mafia lord who was raised in London by the exiled crime lords. Black suit, suave demeanor, and the smoldering gaze, that’s precisely the fans’ rubric that James Norton lived up to, but here’s the question. Is he starring in a James Bond movie? No, as of yet, and there is no news surrounding that.
