From television and film to animation, Steven Yeun has left no stone unturned in marking his calibre as an actor. He is known for his iconic role of Glenn Rhee in The Walking Dead, but the actor is aiming for the stars by pitching himself for a role in the MCU.

Steven Yeun expresses interest in the MCU

Steven Yeun spoke to Movie Web on returning to Invincible and his thoughts on Thunderbolts. When asked if he checked out the Jake Schreier show and his future with the MCU, he said, “I did. I love Jake, Jake Schreier, an incredible human director. I did [see it], and I never say never. I’m around.”

Yeun, to this date, remains the fans’ favorite and ideal casting for the role of Shang-Chi. The role, however, went to Simu Liu, who played the part to a T, nonetheless.

Aside from that, Yeun was also supposed to play the role of Sentry in Thunderbolts. The actor refused the role following scheduling differences that clashed with the timeline of his other projects.

This, however, did not stop the actor from finding his niche in other areas. He is a marvelous voice actor, as seen in his roles as Avatar Wan in Avatar: The Legend of Korra, Bo in The Star, Steve in Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, and, most recently, Mark Grayson in Invincible.

Yeun has returned to Invincible Season 4, where he is reprising his role of Mark Grayson. He also had an interesting process behind voicing the character, as he chose to maintain a level of curiosity throughout the character.

I actually didn’t read all the comics. I remember when I first got on Walking Dead, Robert sent me like three of the Omnibus, and then I read like two of them, but I didn’t read the rest, and then when I got cast in this, I didn’t. I was like, “Oh, I want to kind of keep it separate.” And so I’m surprised as I go.

Yeun will also voice Zuko in the upcoming Avatar film, Avatar: Aang, the Last Airbender, directed by Lauren Montgomery. The film is scheduled for release on 9th October 2026.
