The Harry Potter TV series is the talk of the town currently. It’s expected to be one of the biggest TV releases this year, and that’s not it. There have been speculations about the actors’ salaries and payouts, and this includes the child actors playing the trio as well, so let’s take a look.
Harry Potter child actors’ salaries revealed
As reported by Dexerto, the child actors in Harry Potter playing the trio are speculated to earn somewhere around $660,000-60,0000 per HBO episode. This is approximately 500,000 pounds when converted to pounds sterling.
The news about the actors’ salaries broke out a few days ago, and fans couldn’t help but feel amazed. While some suggested equal pay among the trio, others were more concerned about the actors’ parents mishandling and mismanaging the money. But here’s the thing.
For child actors in the UK, the money is usually put in a trust fund to ensure supervision; however, the laws do not take parental mismanagement lightly. The trust funds help in safeguarding and securing the child actor’s salary until they reach the age of 18. Their parents can only access the bank account with legal authorization and counsel.
On top of that, the law doesn’t block away a child actor’s account as one would presume. There have been major speculations about the actors’ salaries ever since the TV series’ reboot was announced.
Behind the glitz, glam, and fame, child actors are also faced with the brunt of brewing criticism. This is something that has been addressed time and time again by the previous generation.
Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton, the OG Harry Potter actors, recently reached out to the young and budding child actors. They extended their support to the reboot actors and reassured them that they would provide any assistance whatsoever.
As for the entire series’ budget, it is estimated to be approximately 5 billion per season. Some reports even suggest that over time, the series will exceed the said budget, considering the makers have eyed the series to be mapped out within seven seasons.
The salaries, all in all, make total sense if one were to put two and two together.
Harry Potter is scheduled to release on 25th December 2026.
