Dune: Part 3 released the trailer of its final film in the trilogy. It’s got fans excited for the most part since the film is a much-anticipated release this year. The film trailer, on the other hand, had Anya Taylor-Joy bawling her eyes out, but why so? Let’s find out.

Anya Taylor-Joy opens up on wrapping up Dune: Part 3

Anya Taylor-Joy was asked by Entertainment Tonight about the trailer for the final film. The reporter excitedly said, “They’re not ready for it,” to which the actress responded, “I mean, listen, I- It’s my absolute dream job. I bawled my eyes out when we wrapped that movie, and I saw that trailer again. And I was like oh! This is going to be a time.”

It is very much understandable why she would feel this way about the final movie. Most actors and actresses have diverse opinions and views on their favorite project wrapping up.

Joy started filming with the Dune crew for the second film, which was released in 2024. She played the role of Alia Atriedes but immediately caught the audience’s attention. The actress reflected Alia’s hardships and struggles brilliantly through her role.

She also recently spoke about her character in a conversation with the Today Show. “She is one of a kind. There’s never been anybody like her. She’s named ‘the Abomination,’ and a lot of people find her really creepy, except for her brother. She has absolute prescience. She lives with the voice of generations of people in her head; she’s never in a singular conversation, and that can drive someone a little bit crazy.

Previously, Joy also spoke about her character’s obsession with Paul Atriedes. This also shed light on the intensity and devotion Alia felt toward her brother, as he was probably one of the very few people who truly understood what she underwent, both as an abomination and an awakened being.

Dune: Part 3 will explore and expand on her status as an abomination. The final trilogy will bring forth major reveals that are sure to have fans on the edge of their seats!

Dune: Part 3 will release on December 18th, 2026.
