If there’s one thing that’s common between Psylocke and Cyclops, it’s that they’re two of the strongest characters in the X-Men universe. But who would actually win the fight? Well, it seems like Olivia Munn has settled the debate once and for all.

Olivia Munn vouches for Psylocke

Olivia Munn and James Marsden did an interview with Pause Rewind. They discussed their new project, Your Friends and Neighbors. When asked who would win in a fight, Cyclops or Psylocke, Munn said, “Got to be Psylocke. You know why it’s got to be? Because she can literally create anything with her mind. So you can be doing whatever you’re doing and she can be like, boulder… drop. Ball of fire… drop. She just chooses to use a sword because she likes the challenge. But if push came to shove, you’re gone.”

Marsden asked if Psylocke would not be pushed away by Cyclops’ concussive force, to which Munn remained speechless. She won a point for the question round nonetheless. Fans were rather impressed by the actor’s knowledge of his character, and it’s not surprising at all. James Marsden played Cyclops in four movies straight. He appeared alongside Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey in the original movies.

Munn, on the other hand, played the role of Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. She was offered a side role in Deadpool previously, but she rejected it mainly because of her wish to play Psylocke.

Both Psylocke and Cyclops are powerful characters in their own ways. The movies, however, did not utilize both characters to their max potential, and this is what Munn pointed out during the round.

X-Men: Apocalypse showed a rather underutilized version of Psylocke when, in fact, the character has quite the potential. She has telepathic powers along with telekinesis and shadow manipulation. However, the films constrain her abilities to craft telekinetic objects only.

As of yet, Olivia Munn and James Marsden are prepping for the second season of Your Friends and Neighbors. It is scheduled for release on 3rd April 2026 and will be available for streaming on AppleTV+.
